Different type of Reasoning Coding Decoding Questions

Different type of Reasoning Coding Decoding Questions

Hello students, we provide you all the type of Reasoning coding decoding questions.By trying these questions you will get the idea what type of questions are asked in exams.

And one bonus for you is: Q46 to 50 is the type of question that is asked in last year bank exams.

In this type of commonsense reasoning, secret messages or words has to be coded.

They are coded as per definite pattern or rule which should be identified first. Then the same is applied to decode another coded word.

Types of Coding Decoding:

I. Coding based on Alphabet:

a. Reversal of Alphabet: The alphabets of the word are reversed in such a way that the last letter is the code of the first letter.

Example: BREAKDOWN is written as NWODKAERB. How will be TRIANGLES be written in that code language?

Answer: SELGNAIRT (order of letters has been reversed in the code)

b. Opposite Letters: in this type of coding is use Opposite letters. We can understand this type from rule 27, which inform us how to find out the opposite letters of the alphabet. Such as A will be coded as Z, B will be coded as Y, C will be coded as X and so on…

Example: ORDER is written as LIWVI. How is SUBSTITUTION written as in this code.

Answer: HFYHGRGFGRLM

c. Positioning of letters (Preceding/Following/Jumbling): in this type of questions either Preceding or Following and also Jumbling letter stands as the code.

Example: in certain code COURAGE is written as UOCREGA. How will JOURNAL will be written in this code.

Answer: Clearly, when COURAGE is coded , some letters are interchange with respect to their positions, i.e odd positions are interchanged.

Position 1 changes to 3 and 3 to 1

Position 5 changes to 7 and 7 to 5

Similarly, JOURNAL can be coded as UOJRLAN.

Attention, The following type of question is different from all the above questions. In last year Bank exams this type of question is asked in Mains exam.

we hope that you read it carefully and get the idea how difficult this question is:

if you done this it means you have strong hold on coding decoding questions.

lets try it:

Q46. Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below:

In every question two rows are given and to find out the resultant of a particular row you need to follow the following steps:

Step 1: If an odd number is followed by an even number, then the resultant will be an addition of both.

Step 2. If an even number is followed by an odd number then the resultant will be subtraction of the latter number.

Step 3. If an odd number is followed by an odd number then the resultant will be multiplication of numbers.

Step 4. If an odd number is followed by a perfect square then the resultant will be the subtraction of the perfect square from the odd number.

Step 5. If an even number is followed by an even number then the resultant will be multiplication of both numbers.

Note: Step 4 is given priority.
